“My Rural Tribe – Photography for those that Live It and Love it!”

Sian Mercer

Photographer – Blogger – Podcaster

Hi I’m Sian Mercer from My Rural Tribe, I  love natural photography – but more than anything I love being in the great outdoors!

My Rural Tribe has been created to celebrate the rural.  Coming from farming family has had a big impact on my life.  A love of being on the farm, working with livestock, and learning about the rural way of life, be it farming, nature or community has shaped me my whole life and this is why I love to Blog and Podcast. I love love to hear peoples stories and learn from them! Every day is a school day!

I won my first camera in a school competition, and bought my first SLR in New Zealand, photography has always been part of my life. Capturing the goings on the farm, the pets and then uni friends on nights out (thank god it was the 90’s), the camera has always been close to hand! Creating memories and capturing the details of life, is why I love photography.

Why choose Sian?

I create a calm, relaxed environment for you, no stress, and it is fun! Who thought Terry Wogan would make an appearance… but he does.. and it always makes you smile! With rural knowledge and a farming background, I bring a great insight to your life, through the lens.

Always putting you first, making sure you are comfortable and at ease, and that YOU shine through.

If you hire me for a wedding or conference, you won’t know I am there! Quiet and unobtrusive, but offering a friendly smile, putting you and your guests at ease, an efficient manner, means you get the best images from your day, without knowing they were even taken!

I am an ‘on-farm’ expert when it comes to farm photography – having grown up and worked within the agricultural industry means I know to turn up in the right clothing and not get in the way! I  love lending a hand, be it on the farm, standing in the gap, or even getting the bride into her dress!
